BCGA Viticulture Awards
Lifetime Achievement
Presented to an individual who has made a long-term contribution to the growth and quality of the BC wine grape growing industry.
Grower or Viticulturist of the Year
This award is to recognize those in our industry who strive to grow the very best wine grapes.
These are the people responsible for each bunch that comes off the vines during harvest and whose decisions directly guide the daily vineyard operations.
Requirements:
Nominee must be a member or working for a company that is a member of the BCGA at the time of nomination.
Nominee must be responsible for the day-to-day operational decisions for the vineyard.
Nominations are for individuals only.
Self-nomination is encouraged.
Nominees are asked to provide two references from sources in the industry, at least one being from a winemaker who uses their fruit.
Judging Criteria:
Vineyard Management, Environmental Stewardship, Equipment, Human Resources, Innovation, and Peer Perception.
The judging committee will conduct site visits in August. The award includes a bursary of up to $2000 to attend an educational event.
